Ride the North a cycle challenge in support of the fight against urological cancer.
On Thursday 2nd June 2011 a group of 38 cyclists left Aberdeen on a three day fundraising ride around the North East of Scotland.
On day two of the challenge, members of the Glass Community Association together with pupils from Glass School welcomed the cyclists at the Hall. The cyclists were provided with some light refreshments and homebakes, but before long they were setting off to complete the next stage of their journey.
At least one of the cyclists wrote a short blog to record events over the 3 days. You can read his account of the challenge and the effort involved to complete it, here
Elaine Murray noted some Tweets made by one of the cyclists, Alasdair McGill:
- Spread that met us at Glass. There were scones & pancakes too. Amazing! Click here
- The local schoolkids cheered us into Glass yesterday – the highlight of our tour! Click here and here
Anne Forbes took some photographs too and kindly sent them to us.
