Burnside Croft

In the foreground is the ruins of the Burnside croft downstream from Timberford. It was the childhood home of Georgina Bisset, born 1902, in adulthood Mrs Thomson, of Greens of Glenbeg, three of whose sons still live in the area, George, Sandy and James. She once told me that some carved stone from the chapel that gave the area its name was built into a wall here. Above to the right is the farm of Chapelhill, of whom the last tenants were brother and sister Adam and Mary Stephen, whose mother Aal Daly’s house was round the hill from there.
