What fun we had at the Glass Duck Race last week. Okay, so the weather wasn’t amazing, but we had a great turnout despite that.

It was a fantastic afternoon, we raised a record amount for this event, and there were many volunteers who helped with setting up and clearing up. A great community effort…… and new faces in the hall…..and teenagers too……and once again amazingly the baking comes in…….

We sold 571 ducks and received some very welcome donations at the tea. In total we made £537.41.

Winners: 1st prize £50; Diane Scott, 2nd prize £30; Poppy Fisher, 3rd prize £20; Sarah Kendrick.

Winners of the duck quiz, kindly prepared by Fiona Hill, were:

Catriona and James from New Zealand (Lilian’s grand daughter)
Kitty (2nd) and Phoebe Sykes (best under 16).
