Open Gardens, 7th July 2024

Visiting the secret gardens of Glass is one of the highlights for the summer season in our community, even if it was a bit rainy off and on. The attendance this year was excellent, with 35 people in a convoy touring the highways and byways to see how diverse our gardening environments are. We had an arboretum, a newly started site, a cottage garden with ponds,  and a mature site with an extensive food growing area. In addition to our hosts special thanks to Lorna and Bob who hosted the group at our final stop, providing cups of tea and coffee with cakes. It was a great end to the day, with a chance to discuss what we’d seen & think about next steps.

One outcome from Open Gardens this year is the idea of having a ‘Glass Gardening’ Whatsapp group for plant swapping & questions. If you want to be added to a list then send a Whatsapp to Marc on 07939864525.

A great afternoon, so many ideas forming, renewed enthusiasm for ones somewhat inferior garden !!
Do pass thanks to those that showed off their beautiful gardens, and to Lorna and Bob for the
    refreshments.
