The sun shone, the ducks swam, the folk had fun. What a great day we had last Sunday at the return of the Glass duck race.
As usual we have so many folk to thank:
- To those of you who came out on the day
- To those who sold the tickets, and of course those who bought them!
- To those who helped out on the day, with the ducks, the baking, the teas. I was going to name names but know that I will miss someone!
- To Sue Brown for the prizes for the duck art
- Those who entered into the duck art competition
Talking of which, it was great to see the duck art entries from our younger members of the community, who were judged by Sue’s visitors, Angela and Nicky. The winners were:
- Primary category: Max Harrold
- Secondary category: Kyle Hanekom
And of course, you’ll want to know the winners of the duck race:
1st place (£50): Ava Sykes
2nd place (£30): Arthur Ashley
3rd place (£20): Nicola Wordie
We raised £464.41 from the event, which included the ticket sales but also £49.41 which was donated for the tea. Of course the total amount will go towards the Hall funds.
We’re already looking forward to the duck race next year!! In the meantime, here’s a few photos of the day.
