Glass Sponsored Walk – Update

Sunday 19th June saw 42 intrepid walkers set out on a Glass Community Association sponsored walk of approximately 10 miles.

The walk, organised by Alan Duff, commenced at the Huntly Mart and then went up and over the Clashmach, afterwhich the route  followed country side paths and tracks to the Glass Hall.

The weather was perfect for walking – which was a relief following the rain on the previous day!

Special “Thank you” to:

  • Ken for loan of the minibus
  • Ruth and Lillian & Vince who welcomed the walkers to their homes, provided a “pitstop”, refreshment and encouragement for all the walkers.
  • Eoin who was ever present in the “Support vehicle”
  • George, Margo & their family for cooking the BBQ so splendidly and to Alan & Marion who provided the liquid refreshment!

The biggest “Thank you” goes to all the walkers for making it such a fun day. It was nice to meet so many “local” people and to have a chat, whilst enjoying the walk.

Monies raised from the sponsored walk will go toward the upkeep of the Glass Hall together with a donation to a local Cancer charity based in Huntly.
